Dhurandhar is emerging as one of the biggest hits of 2025. It is being loved not just by the audience but has also impressed the industry as a whole. Several celebrities celebrated the film for its craft, Aditya Dhar’s direction, and the cast, including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna and Rakesh Bedi’s performance. From Karan Johar to Akshay Kumar to Anupam Kher and Smriti Irani, see what celebrities had to say about the film.

But the film has been banned in all the gulf countries and there seems to be a reason behind the same. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have not released Dhurandhar. There were apprehensions that this would happen as the film is perceived as an ‘anti-Pakistan film’.”

It added, “Also, in the past, such films have failed to procure a release in this region. Yet, the team of 
_Dhurandhar_ made an attempt, but sadly, all the countries did not approve of the theme of the film. This is why Dhurandhar hasn’t been released in any of the Gulf countries.”

Akshay wrote on X, “Watched   Dhurandhar   and I’m blown away. What a gripping tale and you’ve simply nailed it @AdityaDharFilms. We need our stories to be told in a hard-hitting way and I’m so glad the audiences are giving the film all the love it deserves (sic).”

Taking to his Instagram stories, Karan Johar shared a poster of Dhurandhar featuring Ranveer Singh and wrote, “OUTSTANDING!!!!! So much respect for Aditya Dhar, Ranveer Singh, Shashwat Sachdeva (my favourite ranveersingh performance). Congratulations to the entire cast and crew and to officialjiostudios.”

He shared a video message, calling Dhurandhar a “triumph for Indian cinema”. “I don’t know whether I should say this… I told Aditya on the phone, ‘Mata chadh gayi hai kya? Itni kamaal ki film banaayi hai!’ Toh bahut hase woh. Sometimes it’s a very proud feeling when somebody makes a film like this. Ranveer Singh is very good in the film. He’s carried that quietness so well,” he said.
