The Canary Islands are a favourite winter hotspot for Irish holidaymakers seeking to escape the dark skies, the cold and wet weather, and the increasingly worrisome winter storms.
But while many tourists flock to Tenerife each year, it is often to engage in the thoroughly understandable and very enjoyable practice of “flying and flopping” – quite literally doing nothing more taxing than reading books by the pool and raising a finger to order another cocktail.
