Emmerdale viewers believe they have finally worked out who will bring down Celia Daniels after a tense showdown between the villain and Rhona Goskirk.
The drama unfolded in Friday’s (December 12) episode when Rhona confronted Celia in the Woolpack after weeks of escalating tensions surrounding April’s involvement in the criminal operation run by Celia and her son, Ray.
The run-in began when the pair crossed paths at the bar, where Celia ordered two mulled wines and coolly told Rhona she could “add it” to what April supposedly owed her. This led to a heated confrontation in the pub toilets.
“How do you sleep?” Rhona demanded. Completely unfazed, Celia replied: “I don’t. And neither will April. Everything that’s happened to her, happened to me. I even had my own Dylan. Long gone no,w of course. But look how I turned out. Always better to be the hammer than the anvil!”

She went on to threaten the life of a boy she and her evil son previously ran over, adding: “Oh! Ray told me that the boy is squeezing hands in the hospital. Wherever April goes, men’s bodies just litter the pavement! Don’t let Dylan’s be the next one.”
Rhona refused to be intimidated, hitting back: “He has survived everything you have done to him, and he will come through this. He’s young and he will come round, and then we are all gonna go talking to the police. Oh yeah, your time is up monster.”
But Celia only smirked, telling her: “I do love to hear a mouse roar. Rhona. You’ve overplayed your hand.” Viewers flocked to social media after the fierce exchange to express that, for the first time since the storyline began, they believe Rhona will be the one to finally expose Celia.
One person praised her for her heroics, writing: “At least Rhona has a backbone unlike Marlon.” Another joked: “Oooooh Rhona’s gettin ‘ard.”
A third wondered: “Rhona knows what she said is true. So why doesn’t she blurt it all out in front of everybody?” But one terrified fan exclaimed: “Rhona and Marlon are just gonna make things even worse! Trying to take down Ray and Celia is impossible! They are unstoppable.”

The tense encounter between Celia and Rhona comes after a wave of viewer complaints about the dark storyline. Ofcom confirmed it received 297 complaints about the December 4 episode, which showed Celia forcing Marlon and Rhona to watch a livestream of Dylan Penders being run down as part of the criminal operation she runs with Ray.
Another 59 complaints were logged for the previous episode. The regulator confirmed the majority were a result of such harrowing scenes airing pre-watershed.
In recent episodes, Marlon had become desperate enough to consider paying the debt Celia says April owes her, and even attempted to sell his car to get the money together.
Ray later barged into his home to demand £20,000. Cain Dingle walked in on the altercation, leaving some fans hopeful that he might step in, but unfortunately, Marlon has yet to come clean with his cousin about why Ray is threatening him.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
