A Galway woman’s Christmas was saved after an amazing act of kindness by a young Galway hero.

A few weeks ago, a young man helped an elderly woman get from Woodquay to her destination, and as a way of saying thank you, she has a gift and a card to give him.

The elderly woman was struggling that night when he came to her rescue. She was “scared and very upset” when the young man came to her aid.

He’s in his early 20s’, tall and has dark hair. Despite him just finishing a long shift in work, he offered to spend time with the woman and help her calm down and get to where she needed to go.

Unfortunately, they don’t know his name, but they think he also lives or works in the Woodquay area. They believe his mother is in a local care home and that he is currently looking after her dog.

In a post online, a callout has been made to help identify the good Samaritan.

“On the 21st November at approximately 5:30 pm a young man helped an elderly lady from Woodquay to her destination.”

“We are desperately trying to find him as the lady he helped has a gift and a card to thank him. He works/lives in Woodquay, his mother is in a nursing home and he is looking after her dog.”

“Please contact me privately if you think you know who he is, as I’ve left out a few details. The lovely lady was struggling on that night, she was scared and very upset.”

“This young man, who is tall with dark hair and in his 20’s, gently offered support and spent time with an abundance of kindness, making sure she got to where she needed to go. He had just finished work and was obviously tired, but didn’t drop a beat when he saw this wonderful woman in serious distress.”

“Heroes don’t wear capes, but this young man should. Please help us find this young man, as he has a gift waiting for him, but more importantly, we all want to meet him.”
