After 20 years of living in St Mullins in Co Carlow, geoscientist Tony McGahan has never seen a dolphin swimming in the River Barrow, let alone a dead one washed up on the riverbank.
But this week, he came across the carcass of a two metre long Common Dolphin washed up on the banks of the River Barrow in St Mullins, a staggering 30km from the sea.
