The BBC has dropped a Christmas special from this year’s festive line-up. With the holiday season just around the corner, it appears that the Mandy 2025 Christmas special, featuring Diane Morgan, has been pushed back to next year.
The programme, dubbed The Mandy Who Knew Too Much, was initially slated for a late-night BBC 2 slot on Monday, 22nd December at 10.25pm. However, it has been abruptly pulled from the schedule.
The film Beetlejuice, originally set for a 10.45pm showing, has been moved up to fill the void left by Mandy. The reason behind this sudden switch remains a mystery, especially as the BBC had previously touted it as one of their flagship Christmas specials for 2025.
According to the British Comedy Guide, the show is now expected to air in 2026, with the BBC allegedly planning to tweak parts of the episode before its release.

Reports suggest that the festive special was filmed early in 2025, alongside the rest of the latest series. It remains undisclosed which scene or scenes are under consideration for revision, reports the Express.
Fans, however, have been speculating about possible reasons for the changes. One fan posted on Twitter: “I wouldn’t be surprised if it was that there were some Trump jokes or something along those lines and they were scared of adding to the ‘lawsuit’.”
Another speculated: “Is it something that the BBC doesn’t want us to hear and laugh at? Does Dianne’s (character, Mandy) moan about the Labour Party? Donald Trump? Ex-Duke Of York?
“Come on, it’s a superb comedy! Isn’t comedy supposed to take risks & give us something to laugh and chat about!”

Another fan chimed in: “That strongly suggests there is a joke or scene that is relevant to a recent event or something and they think it will ‘offend’ some. Ridiculous if the case.”
The episode’s description reads: “Mandy rarely dabbles in global diplomacy, especially over Christmas when it’s so cold out and there’s good telly on, but when she does, you can bet that she makes a real difference to the balance of power in the world.”
A BBC spokesperson confirmed to the Mirror: “The Mandy Christmas Special has been moved to 2026.” The Mirror also understands the decision has nothing to do with President Trump and that he did not feature or was mentioned in the episode.
