Plans for two large artworks to be installed in a North Yorkshire town as part of a multimillion-pound redevelopment scheme have been submitted.
The sculptures would be situated in the centre of Catterick Garrison and have been inspired by the area’s military and railway heritage.
The first design is a series of sculptural totems positioned at key points in Coronation Park, while the second is a circular steel sculpture planned for the new town square.
Councillor Simon Myers, executive member for arts and culture at North Yorkshire Council, said: “These pieces will provide focal points for residents, visitors and members of our armed forces as part of this major redevelopment.”
