Harry Styles is back. Kind of.

The pop star got the internet buzzing Saturday when he announced a sudden livestream on his YouTube page, which has over 15 million subscribers. Styles had been in a self-imposed hiatus from the spotlight following his Love On Tour concert series in 2023.

Fans were anxiously trying to draw meaning from the video, titled Forever, Forever, which featured young people getting ready to watch him perform and eventually a piano ballad from Styles’ last night from the Love On Tour run. Some fans speculated that Styles may be retiring, as the video featured one woman saying that after the show Styles “will disappear. we won’t see him dancing on stages anymore.”

While the retirement question is never answered, Styles did share three words for his fans at the end of the video: “We belong together.” Could it be Styles feeling sentimental around the holidays? Is he hinting at a new album? Who knows, but it sure got his fans talking.

Styles, formerly of One Direction, has become a global superstar as a solo act, selling nearly nine million albums and winning three Grammys. Whatever the 31-year-old does next, it’ll have the world’s attention.
