A man was rescued from the river Boyne in Drogheda but passed away later in hospital.
A man who fell into the river Boyne on Christmas Day died a few hours after he was rescued.
It is understood that he suffered hypothermia from the freezing cold water and paramedics had initially revived him at the scene before he was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he later passed away
