The Motorola X70 Air, which is as the Motorola Edge 70 in some markets, is an unusual mid-range smartphone with three 50MP cameras, a 4,500-nit OLED display and a 4,800mAh battery in an ultra-thin chassis. Motorola has now confirmed the upcoming launch of a Pro model.

The Motorola Moto X70 Air, also known as the Motorola Edge 70 in some regions, is positioned as an alternative to the Apple iPhone Air with a thickness of 0.24 inches and a price tag of around €799 in Europe. The mid-range smartphone is slightly thicker than Apple’s ultra-thin flagship but offers a significantly larger 4,800mAh battery, a 50MP wide-angle and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, as well as a 6.7-inch P-OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an HDR peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

Motorola has now released a teaser image on the Chinese social network Weibo which indicates that the Moto X70 Air Pro will be officially unveiled soon. We don’t know if this smartphone will have the same design as the Motorola Signature, which is also set to debut in January. The teaser only promises that the smartphone is “more Pro” and offers more AI features. This suggests that the handset will be equipped with a more processor than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 that’s found inside the Motorola Edge 70.

Rumors point to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 5, which would result in a performance comparable to last year’s flagships. PhoneArena has already spotted the Moto X70 Air Pro in a certification listing, which confirms the model number XT2603-1 and USB-C fast charging with up to 90 instead of 67 watts on the older Moto X70 Air. More details on the technical specifications and design of the Moto X70 Air Pro are likely to be confirmed within the next few days.
