Human Spaceflight and Exploration Efforts

A major focus of the year was continued progress on NASA’s Artemis program. Artemis is NASA’s long-term initiative to return humans to the Moon, establish a sustained presence there, and use what is learned to prepare for future missions to Mars. Johnson Space Center supports Artemis through mission planning, spacecraft operations, crew readiness, and flight control expertise.

Johnson also remained a central hub for ISS operations. Teams supported astronaut missions, daily station activities, and ongoing scientific research that helps advance knowledge about human health, technology, and living in space.

Astronaut Training, Technology, and Collaboration

Astronauts continued training at Johnson Space Center for current and future missions. This training included mission simulations, technical instruction, and operational exercises designed to prepare crews for work aboard the space station and participation in upcoming Artemis missions.

Engineers and researchers at Johnson worked on spacecraft systems, exploration technologies, and mission planning tools that support NASA’s long-term exploration goals. The center also maintained strong collaboration with international partners, commercial space companies, and the public through education and outreach efforts.

Preparing for the Future

The milestones achieved in 2025 highlight Johnson Space Center’s role in advancing NASA’s mission. The work completed during the year helps lay the foundation for future exploration while supporting safe and sustainable human spaceflight.
