Back in October, the first trailer finally dropped for Chris Hemsworth‘s next project, ahead of his return to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday. Set to star alongside the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nick Nolte, and Halle Berry, the heist thriller Crime 101 is also produced by Hemsworth and is scheduled for release on February 13, 2026. As time edges closer to one of early 2026’s most exciting new movies, another Hemsworth project is about to join a new streamer.
As of January 1, 2026, Men in Black: International, the fourth film in the sci-fi franchise popularized by Will Smith, will be available to stream on Starz. Directed by F. Gary Gray, the movie is headlined by Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, taking over from the aforementioned Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Also starring the likes of Emma Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, and Liam Neeson, International split critics and audiences down the middle, with the film earning just 23% from the former and a much-improved 66% from the latter on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. The critics’ consensus on the site reads, “Amiable yet forgettable, MiB International grinds its stars’ substantial chemistry through the gears of a franchise running low on reasons to continue.” A synopsis for the movie reads:
“The Men in Black have expanded to cover the globe but so have the villains of the universe. To keep everyone safe, decorated Agent H and determined rookie M join forces — an unlikely pairing that just might work. When aliens that can take the form of any human arrive on Earth, H and M embark on a globe-trotting adventure to save the agency — and ultimately the world — from their mischievous plans.”
Was ‘Men in Black: International’ a Box Office Hit?
Despite failing to impress critics, could Men in Black: International follow in the footsteps of its franchise predecessors and prove popular at the box office? The answer is yes, although only just, with the movie turning a reported $110 million budget into a global haul of $254 million. Split between $80 million in domestic revenue and a further $174 million from overseas markets, International finished 2019 as the 32nd highest-grossing movie of the year.
Men in Black: International will stream on Starz from January 1, 2026. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for more streaming stories.
