Sammy Wilson, DUP MP for East Antrim
The DUP has defended Sammy Wilson’s previous support of Alaa Abd El-Fattah but has called for a “review of the case” following “abhorrent comments” the Egyptian activist made on social media.
It comes after the UUP called on East Antrim MP Mr Wilson to explain why he was among peers and MPs who had signed a letter calling for Mr Abd El-Fattah’s release after years of detention in Egypt.
