The free service provided by Wicklow County Council will be available from Friday, January 2, until Saturday, January 17, and offers the opportunity for households to dispose of their Christmas trees responsibly.
The local authority has advised householders can bring one tree to any of the collection points provided around the county.
No commercial collectors are allowed. Litter fines will be issued to those depositing trees outside the times specified and to individuals or other entities operating unauthorised collections. The council have also asked people to ensure there are no wreaths, decorations or tinsel left on the trees.
Please note that plastic trees will not be accepted.
