CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Christ Hospital has now reported six cases of Legionella pneumonia.
In a statement from the hospital Wednesday, leaders at Christ say they have identified six cases of legionella pneumonia over the past three months.
Three of the patients have died but many people who get Legionnaire’s have underlying medical conditions.
Legionella bacteria, which can cause Legionnaires’ disease, are commonly found in natural and man-made water systems.
Two cases were reported in early November, leading to a test of water.
