For some people, going out to a party on New Year’s Eve is a non-negotiable, while others couldn’t think of anything worse and prefer a cosy night in – and celebs are just the same!

While some spent the night in the pub with friends, others had made plans for exciting holidays abroad, but some rang in the New Year in their PJs in front of the fire.

Here’s what your favourite Irish celebrities had planned for NYE 2025.

Roz Purcell is currently travelling around South America and rang in the New Year watching an incredible fireworks display on a beach in Rio de Janerio. She joked that she ‘felt like I was in a cult’ as per Brazilian tradition, everyone was dressed in white – to symbolise new beginnings – and were holding flowers, which they later threw in the sea.

The influencer joined in the ritual, walking down to the waves after midnight and throwing her flower into the ocean, which represents an offering to Brazil’s goddess of the sea, to ask for good fortune in 2026.
