The Traitors fans have reacted to the first round table of the season, calling one contestant an “icon” after a “high stakes” reveal. Following its epic return last night, the BBC series aired the second episode of its fourth season tonight, revealing who had been murdered and who had been banished.

Kicking off the episode, it was revealed that Traitors Hugo, Stephen and Rachel had decided to murder Netty after being given a shortlist by a secret fourth Traitor, whose identity is unknown to both them and the viewing audience.

Later, at the round table, suspicion fell on Faithful Judy, who is secretly Roxy’s mum. Judy was banished and Roxy reacted to the news quite badly, telling people to avoid “herd mentality”.

While the banishment and murder were exciting moments indeed, fans took to social media to share their delight at another standout moment from the round table.

After the group shared their suspicions of Amanda, with Ross bringing up Amanda and Hugo’s “rapport”, Adam agreed with Ross’ theory, saying that Amanda and Hugo “looked a little bit too close” at breakfast.

“It’s lovely that you think we’re together or whatever, but we’re not,” Amanda responded, adding: “I’m a lesbian.”

“So I’m not sure I’m your type,” Hugo replied, with Amanda quipping to the amused group: “No, you’re not my sort.”

Reacting to the moment on X, one fan said: “Amanda is such a queen, Amanda to win,” while another wrote: “Amanda casually revealing she’s a lesbian icon.”

“Amanda has had to out herself to get the heat off her with Hugo this is high stakes tense,” wrote one viewer, with another writing: “Amanda you icon. I love her and I lowkey hope she’s the secret traitor cos I think she’ll play a blinder.”

Another fan said: “Amanda’s defence being ‘I’m a lesbian’ is the most iconic reason for claiming not to be a traitor.”

Some fans theorised that Roxy could have another secret mother in the show, guessing that Amanda and Judy were her adoptive parents, with one viewer asking: “Are we all thinking Judy and Amanda are secretly a couple and both roxys mum?”

“Amanda’s a lesbian. Right so Judy is her partner and they adopted Roxy is my theory,” said another, with one fan adding: “The theory of Judy and Amanda being together and adopting Roxy just got real interesting.”

The Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
