After many years of highlighting a pension scheme for all, the auto-enrolment scheme begins today.

From today, the employee, the employer and the state all contribute to auto-enrolment.

For every €3 put in by an employee, the employer will also contribute €3, and the State will contribute €1.
Anna Smith from Farnham Financial Services based in Cavan says the reason behind the scheme is to ensure everyone has a pension come their retirement.
