Three men have been killed in separate road tragedies in the first weekend of 2026.
A man aged in his 80s was killed in a single-car crash in County Antrim yesterday afternoon.
The incident took place shortly after 2:30pm at Bushmills.
Emergency services attended the scene and rushed the man to hospital, where he subsequently passed away.
The second road victim of this weekend died in a three-vehicle collision near Edgesworthtown in County Longford yesterday evening.
A man aged in his 30s was killed in the crash, with a second injured person taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Finally another man aged in his 30s died in a single-vehicle crash in County Kerry last night.
The collision occurred at approximately 11:20pm at Knockdooragh, Headford.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
