Concerns raised in Wexford as new retail outlet selling sweets and energy drinks popular with children and teenagers alongside drug-related content

Ordinarily, when a new shop opens its doors in a vacant unit on Wexford’s Main Street, local representatives are quick to roll out the welcome mat. Usually there’s a photo and an encouragement for locals to offer their support to the new venture.
It was noticeably quieter as Candy Cloud opened its doors on North Main Street recently, in the unit formerly occupied by Butler’s Post Office. The reason being that many have already expressed concerns about the new shop, which markets all manner of vapes and ‘cannabis’ related products, in the same store as the types of unusual “American candy” and energy drinks that are sought after by children and teens.
