Part of O’Connell Street is shut following a serious collision this afternoon.

The southbound lane is closed and delays are expected in the area. Witnesses have told Dublin Live the collision, which happened at approximately 12:15pm, involved a pedestrian and a bus.

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending a serious road traffic collision that occurred on O’Connell Street, Dublin 1 at approximately 12:15pm this afternoon, Monday, 5th January 2025.

“The southbound lane of O’Connell Street is currently closed and delays are expected if travelling in the area. No further information is available at this time.”
