A Wexford man has returned to his homeplace to continue the legacy of his family owned pub after taking ownership of The Strand in December 2025.
Greg Whelan was born and raised in The Strand, Cahore and returned in December with his wife Emma to take over the reins. Greg said the moment that confirmed he would take the reins of his family business was surreal. “There’s sometimes I have to pinch myself to realise this is real, this is happening.
