A man was left utterly gobsmacked after his wife showed him photos of his doppelgänger with another woman. But he then realised what the photo actually meant for him

A man has been stunned to learn a family secret after his wife caught him “cheating”. The 25-year-old revealed he spent his earliest years bouncing through foster care before finding a forever home with an adoptive family when he was about five.
Describing his upbringing as “completely normal”, he credits his parents with giving him everything, embracing him wholeheartedly into their lives. Taking to Reddit, he shared: “I spent the first four years of my life in the care system. Luckily, I have very few memories of this time and there’s been no lasting trauma.
“At the age of four, I was taken in by the Roberts – a husband and wife who would take presents to the children’s home every Christmas (something they still do). By the time I was five, they had officially adopted me.”
Continuing his story, he explained: “From here on, they’ll be referred to as Mam, 60, and Dad, 60. I experienced a completely normal, upper-middle-class upbringing. I grew up in Cardiff. Mam owned a chain of salons around South Wales, and Dad wore a suit to work every day.
“I was blessed with two wonderful older sisters, Claire, 42, and Sally, 40, who completely doted on me.”
During his teenage years, he became heavily involved with a local boxing gym and even flirted with the idea of turning pro, though his father steered him towards higher education.
It was at this very gym where he fell head over heels for Chloe, the coach’s daughter – the woman who would eventually become his wife. He continued: “Chloe and I were at the gym. I would’ve been about 15 at the time, and she’d had enough of my wind-ups and demanded we get in the ring.
“I agreed, saying I’d keep my hands behind my back, and if she could land a punch within a minute I’d stop teasing her. If she couldn’t, she’d let me take her out.
“Well, I danced around for 60 seconds without her laying a hand on me. Just as the timer rang to signal the minute was up, she landed a right hook that Mike Tyson would’ve been proud of.
“Nose bleeding and pride hurt, I got to my feet. She approached, wiped the blood away, then kissed me softly on the lips.
“Ten years later, we’ve been married for three years and have twins, Seren and Llew, both two. I love her with all my heart.”
However, matters recently took a dramatic turn when he arrived home from work to discover Chloe, now 26, in tears upstairs in their bedroom.
Bewildered, he enquired what was wrong – only for her to accuse him of being unfaithful.
He said: “On Friday last week, I came home to absolute silence. No toddlers running around my feet, no music, no TV – just silence.
“I opened the door and saw Chloe crying into her pillow. I called her name and when she looked up, her eyes were red and swollen from crying.
“I asked what was wrong, but before I could say another word she hit me with one of those right hooks she’d caught me with 10 years ago.
“She began screaming, telling me she’d seen me and that I knew what I’d done. I managed to calm her down and asked her to explain. She pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of me sitting at a cafe with another woman – then another photo of me kissing her.
“I was dumbfounded. The man in the picture was identical to me – my complete double in every feature.
“I logged into the CCTV from my workplace, which clearly showed I’d been on site all day.”
Following her apology for striking him, Chloe’s demeanour shifted as she suggested: “You’re adopted. What if you have a twin? We’ve got twins – and it can be hereditary.”
He continued: “Honestly, that question has stayed with me ever since. I’ve always had such a great relationship with my family that I never put much thought into my biological parents or possible siblings. For the first time in my life, I feel slightly lost.”
