Shamrock Rovers today completed the signing of Jake Mulraney to the Hoops ranks ahead of the 2026 season.
A much sought-after signature, Jake joins the Hoops ahead of pre season training starting next week.
Head coach, Stephen Bradley was speaking about the signing to the club website.
Jake Mulraney becomes the first Rovers signing for 2026. How happy are you to bring Jake to the club?
“We’re really happy. Jake is one we’ve looked at for some time, so we’re really happy to get him in. He really adds something to the attacking part of the pitch and gives us really good options. So I’m delighted to get him in.”
Jake is a well established and recognised League of Ireland footballer. What do you see as his attributes that will contribute to this Rovers group?
“Jake is a really experienced player. He’s a player who we saw in Tallaght Stadium in 2024 (scored two with one assist in a 3-0 victory for Saint Patrick’s Athletic) with the qualities he has. We have seen that time and time again. I think we will improve Jake, and Jake will definitely improve us, there’s no doubt about that.”
Jake would be usually seen as a wide player. Do you see him playing in more than one position for Rovers?
“I think he can play a number of positions, which was a really important part of getting Jake in. We know he can play on either side, but we also know he can play centrally as well and is really dangerous from all of those areas. He’s a player we can utilise in all those positions.”
As 29 years of age, do you see Jake‘s experience being of assistance to our younger players at the club?
“Jake is obviously experienced, but he also has the hunger to want to win. I think that’s quite common with a lot of players as they get older, they understand that winning trophies and medals and playing in Europe it is really important for them. So Jake is really hungry for that and hopefully he can help us achieve more of the success we’ve had.”
SRFC social media platforms will have an exclusive interview with the player tomorrow (Friday).
