A FREE exhibition of work from a talented artist is being staged in Lichfield.

The Hub at St Mary’s will host the Margaret Parker showcase until 31st January.

The artist, who died in 2012, originally trained in Sutton Coldfield before becoming known for her later work produced in the Hull and East Ridings areas.

During her lifetime, Margaret’s work was exhibited at the Royal Academy, with many of her pieces held in public collections at the likes of the Beverly Art Gallery and University of York.

The Hub’s gallery curator Douglas Armour said:

“We are indebted to Margaret’s daughter Judith, a Hub volunteer, for the opportunity to not only display this fantastic body of work from a renowned artist, but to offer them for sale with proceeds going to support the charitable purpose of The Hub at St Mary’s.

“It is a remarkably generous gesture and myself and the other trustees at The Hub are immensely grateful.

“We hope art lovers in Lichfield will enjoy this opportunity to appreciate Margaret’s work and perhaps take the opportunity to own an original piece.”
