Fine Gael TD says protections are in place to counter any major disruption to beef prices

Agriculture Minister Martin Heydon
The Agriculture Minister, Martin Heydon, has urged farmers not to feel “fatalistic” about the Mercosur trade deal, saying safeguards are in place to protect them from any major disruption to beef prices from South American produce flooding the market.
“There will always be something for farmers to worry about, but we navigate these things,” Mr Heydon told the Sunday Independent.
