Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks has resolved the life-changing decision that Gemma Johnson made in the storyline involving Connor ‘Sully’ Sullivan. With the dramatic storyline continuing, what does the future hold for the figure?

Gemma has been involved in a sinewy plot involving Sully, Froggy Black, Warren Fox and her father Mick Johnson, who is now going by the name of Donny Clark. Gemma and Sully committed a fake robbery last year, all with the aim of duping Warren.

After several twists and turns, Monday’s (12 January) instalment of the Channel 4 soap saw Sully’s world come crashing down after Froggy put an end to his feud with Donny. Sully was arrested late on, but quickly escaped custody.

Tonight’s episode began with Sully contacting Gemma as he needed help in escaping from the village, with Gemma promptly heading to Froggy in hospital. Despite Sully’s plea for help, Froggy urged Gemma to not help him in any way.

She didn’t heed his advice, however, and prepared some clothes for Sully along with a fake passport. Rex echoed Froggy’s sentiments and told Gemma to “let him go”, but she ploughed on regardless.

She later met with Sully and handed him a bag of clothes, but made a bold decision as it was revealed that she told the police where he was, reasoning that Froggy “must have had a reason” to disown his son.

As Sully was cuffed by Dodger and several other officers, his true nature was revealed to Gemma as he spitefully said that he would “kill” her for what he viewed as betrayal, even going as far to spit on the window of the car as he passed her.

Misbah and Vicky, meanwhile, had a meeting with a police officer regarding Donny’s recent vanishing act. The officer said that Donny could be part of wider corruption in the force, though Vicky didn’t believe the accusation and vowed to find her father.

The pair met up with Gemma later in the episode, and she also expressed doubt that Donny was corrupt. She also admitted her part in the set-up of Warren, a fact which unnerved Misbah.

Misbah attempted to call Donny, and it was revealed that she was working with the police in a bid to track him down. Will she succeed, and how will Gemma fare after she told the force about Sully?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
