Emmerdale spoilers follow from Wednesday’s episode (14 January), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Emmerdale’s Victoria Sugden reveals that she’s living in fear tonight – still expecting to be arrested for John’s murder at any moment. Is her guilty conscience going to lead to disaster in the long-run?
Victoria’s life changed forever last week as she was forced to lash out in self-defence when John attacked her, which led to the villain’s sudden death. Fans saw the dramatic scenes play out in Corriedale and a subsequent flashback which revealed all.
Since then, secret witness Joe Tate has refused to let the Sugdens forget what happened – ruthlessly blackmailing them while pursuing his own agenda.
In tonight’s episode, Victoria’s brother Robert is firmly focused on the crisis engulfing Moira Dingle up at Butler’s Farm. Poor Moira has been implicated in Celia Daniels’ crimes – and Joe has twisted the knife by forcing Robert to plant incriminating evidence inside her home.

But if that wasn’t enough to worry about, Victoria reminds Robert of just how serious the John situation still is…
Victoria’s frenzy comes as she learns that police have arrived at Butler’s with a search warrant, wanting to hunt through Moira’s home for any potential clues linking her to Celia. While this seems unrelated to John, she panics over what else they could find.
“I am freaking out,” Vic admits. “And if they dig deep enough, who knows what else they’ll uncover?
“We haven’t even had John’s post-mortem back yet. What if they find something that points towards me?”

Robert points out that Victoria is panicking for no reason, but she reveals that she’s been feeling this way for a while – with her recent police interview over Moira and Celia the final straw.
“When I answered their questions, I felt like they knew,” Victoria admits. “That they could see straight through me – straight through what I’ve done.”
Robert tries to comfort Victoria, but is she heading for a downward spiral? And could her guilty conscience play a role in her upcoming break from the show?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
