The most combustible event in Irish sport this year won’t be one of Ireland’s Six Nations games. It won’t be the habitually cantankerous Ulster football final or any of the molten Munster hurling championship fixtures either.

So far as Six One potential goes, it isn’t any of the League of Ireland’s febrile Dublin derbies or a World Cup play-off in March, should we win in Prague, or even – however unlikely – a Conor McGregor comeback bout.
