Gardaí have appealed for witnesses

Two pedestrians were injured in a collision involving an e-scooter earlier this week. The driver of the e-scooter left the scene of the incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening.

A woman and a girl were on McCurtain Street in Fermoy when they were injured in a collision involving an e-scooter at around 6.30pm. The woman, in her 40s, and the youth were treated for injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the road traffic collision, and confirmed that the driver of the e-scooter left the scene after the incident. A spokesperson said: “The collision involved an e-scooter and two pedestrians. The pedestrians, a woman in her 40s and a female youth, received treatment for their injuries. The driver of the e-scooter left the scene.

“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses of the collision to contact them. Anyone who was in the McCurtain Street area of Fermoy between 6:15 pm and 6:45 pm on Tuesday 13th January 2026 and who may have any information is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make that footage available. Gardaí can be contacted at Fermoy Garda Station on 02582100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
