A major economic boost for Longford has been announced. US-based Technimark has been granted planning permission to create up to 120 new jobs in the region. Technimark is a multinational specialising in precision-made plastic components and packaging for sectors including healthcare. The new employment opportunities will be an expansion to the existing 147 staff.
It plans to develop a major new facility at the former Eir depot in Templemichael Business Park. The company purchased the site from Longford County Council and is seeking to establish a three-storey production hub. According to planning documents, the proposed development would include a 9,545 square metre moulding plant designed to support the production of injection-moulded medical devices.
