A unique Co Galway business is saying goodbye to its iconic location as the crew move to pastures new.
The Tearooms at Coole Park has been a welcome sight for walkers, joggers and adventurers at the magical south Galway forest park, but they are closing their doors for the last time in the coming days.
The Tearooms will close at the end of January 2026.
The Tearooms at Coole Park’s team said goodbye with a beautiful message to their patrons:
“To our wonderful customers and friends,
“After our fantastic years of working at Coole Park Tearooms, the time has come for us to say goodbye. We will be moving on from the tearooms at the end of the month to begin an exciting new chapter in County Clare.
“From the thousands of cups of coffee and scones served to the quiet rainy mornings, the freshly baked brown bread, and the busy summer afternoons, every moment has been a joy.
“We have loved being a small part of your family and doggie walks, your Sunday catch-ups, your Coole Parkruns, and your visits to this magical park.
“To our regulars who became friends, and to every visitor who stopped by for a cuppa—thank you for supporting our small family business. It has been an absolute privilege to serve you all in the beautiful surroundings of the Gregory estate.
“We would like to thank the National Park and Wildlife Service and all of our suppliers and staff for all our the support over the years.”

The crew also revealed that they are bringing their wonderful tea, food and welcome to Co Clare. The Hedgerow will open in Kilshanny in the coming weeks, and the crew hope to see some of their old regulars.
They also guaranteed to honour all Tearooms at Coole Park vouchers in their new business.
The Tearooms staff confirmed: “While we are sad to leave Coole, we are following our hearts onto a new adventure.
“Keep an eye on our new Facebook and Instagram pages The Hedgerow Kilshanny for updates on our next project—we would love to see you all down in the Banner County when our new business commences this Spring.
For any remaining gift vouchers for the tearooms these will be honoured either at our new premises The Hedgerow, Kilshanny – bar, restaurant, rooms – or by refund.
