Luckless Celtic are at risk of losing out on long-term target Michael Noonan – according to a report.
The 17-year-old Shamrock Rovers star has long been on the Hoops’ radar but now Bundesliga big-hitters Hoffenheim are locked in advanced talks to land the highly-rated forward.
Multiple reports state Celtic made a fresh approach for Noonan but it looks like he is now destined for Germany.
Martin O’Neill is seeking two strikers, however, it’s understood the Rovers forward was always viewed as a player for the future.
Noonan – capped by Ireland up to U21 level – is regarded as a star on the rise and a bonafide option to challenge Evan Ferguson and Troy Parrott with the national team in the years to come.
Celtic have tracked Noonan’s stratospheric rise but now Hoffenheim have jumped to the front of the queue.
The striker is currently in pre-season training with Rovers but appears destined to move before the window closes.
