A popular Mexican restaurant chain has opening a new store in Cork – with 100 customers set to enjoy free burritos to mark the occasion this Friday.
Zambrero will celebrate the new opening at Grandons Mace Sallybrook near Glanmire this Friday, January 23. The first 100 burritos will be absolutely free – and for the rest of the day they’ll be just €5 each.
It’s the fourth location in Cork for Zambreo, which specialises in “fresh, Mexican-inspired dishes and modern superfood ingredients,” designed to “serve up a healthier, feel-good alternative to traditional fast food.” The menu features burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos and quesadillas, as well as a wide range of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
Ken Grandon, Zambrero franchise partner, said: “We are incredibly excited to officially launch Zambrero at Grandons MACE Sallybrook. This partnership represents everything we believe in as a local business – fresh food, great value, and giving customers more choice. Zambrero brings something truly special to the area, and we’re proud to offer a restaurant experience that combines bold flavours with a genuine focus on quality and community. We can’t wait for customers to experience it.”
The new Zambrero will be open daily from 11am to 10pm at Grandons Mace Sallybrook, Glanmire, Cork, T45 V221. Zambrero now has 36 locations nationwide, with plans for further expansion in 2026, having opened its first Irish location in Ireland in 2016.
In addition to serving healthy Mexican cuisine, Zambrero remains operates a Plate4Plate initiative, ensuring that a meal is donated to individuals in need through Zambrero’s charity distribution partner, Rise Against Hunger.
Elsewhere, in the city centre, a new three-storey pizzeria is bringing an “authentic taste of Napoli” to Leeside.
