Services have been suspended on two rail lines in Cork and due to tragic incidents.

In Cork, a man died after he was struck by a train between Cork city and Mallow at around 4.40pm on Thursday afternoon.

All services between Cork and Mallow are currently suspended due to the incident.

“Services are suspended between Cork and Mallow until further notice due to a tragic incident on the line,” Irish Rail said in a post on X.

“Bus transfers operating Cork Kent to Mallow.”

The 6.25pm service from Cork to Heuston Station will stop in Ballybrophy, while the 5.25pm Cork to Heuston service was cancelled.

Separately in Dublin, services between Howth Junction and Malahide are suspended following a tragic incident on the line.

A number of services have been delayed or cancelled as a result.

Services are suspended between Howth Junction and Malahide until further notice due to a tragic incident on the line,” Irish Rail said.

“Bus transfers are being organised between Connolly and Malahide. Dublin Bus are accepting rail tickets.”

Irish Rail has said the 6pm and 9pm Belfast to Connolly Station services will terminate in Drogheda, with bus transfers operating to Connolly Station, while a similar arrangement will be in place for the 8.50pm Connolly to Belfast service, with a bus transfer operating to Drogheda.
