When the 60 cars competing in this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona take to the track tomorrow afternoon, they’ll fall into line behind the race’s official safety car—a Porsche 911. As if the 911 weren’t special enough, Porsche is going with a 911 GT3. And because that wasn’t quite extreme enough, Porsche tapped the 911 GT3 RS. But because this is Daytona (!), the pinnacle of endurance racing in the Western Hemisphere, not even that machine would do. So the car pacing the pack tomorrow will be a 911 GT3 RS equipped with the Manthey Kit.

Porsche has partnered with German tuner Manthey for years to develop track-oriented performance kits for the 911. New for 2026 is the kit aimed at the current 992.2 generation of the GT3, meant for owners who regularly drive those machines on track. Manthey is also a regular in endurance racing and will be fielding two GT3s in the big race.

The kit adds a different front splitter, a larger rear wing, a bigger diffuser, drag-reducing rear wheels, undercarriage aero tweaks, an upgraded suspension, and improved braking. It all works in concert to generate up to 2200 pounds of downforce at 177 mph.
For the industrious types hoping to turn their GT3 RS into a safety car clone, the kits are available for purchase at 77 Manthey-certified Porsche Centers across the country. In addition to its latest upgrades, Manthey makes performance kits for the “regular” GT3 and 992.1-generation GT3, as well as for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS.
