A lip-reading specialist has uncovered what seems to be a tense exchange between the Beckhams at the premiere of David Beckham’s documentary series, Beckham.

Footage from the glittering event has resurfaced online and is facing renewed scrutiny following Brooklyn Beckham’s surprising revelations about his family on Instagram Stories this Monday.

Collaborating with Covers.com, forensic lip reader Nicola Hickling analysed clips from the red-carpet event, which was held in London in October 2023. David, 50, and Victoria, 51, attended alongside their four children – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

In the video, Brooklyn can be seen having what appears to be a discreet conversation with Romeo, and according to Nicola, he seems to say: “I hated it.”

Two individuals, a man and a woman, dressed in formal attire, stand together outside, appearing to be engaged in a conversation while smiling, with a construction ladder and building visible in the background.

The lip-reading expert believes his remark refers to what had just occurred, suggesting Brooklyn may have felt uncomfortable posing beside his parents for photographs, or it might relate to an earlier instance when the 26 year old reached out towards David, who appeared to withdraw and step back. Moments later, Brooklyn seems to say: “She’s in tears.”, reports the Mirror.

Based on Brooklyn’s gaze and the way he looks towards his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, the specialist interprets this as referring to his spouse, reports the Express.

“Brooklyn’s eyes look so heavy, whilst trying to put on a facade of seeming to be okay,” Nicola notes. “Whatever happened before they arrived at the premiere, something went down.”

Later in the footage, Victoria seemingly delivers a firm instruction as Cruz and Harper move towards a photo wall, apparently saying: “I need you to tell them, they can’t do that, if they do, it’s over for them.”

The expert also noted: “Victoria is very tense when she sees Brooklyn and Nicola heading to the wall; she looks straight past them.”

A lip reader additionally observed the former Spice Girl somewhat covering her mouth whilst speaking to her assistant: “What a nightmare.”

At this juncture, she appears to be referencing Nicola and Brooklyn.

Neither Victoria nor David have issued any public statement regarding Brooklyn’s claims.
