Gardai in Cork have seized herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €660k after a search of a vehicle led to follow-up operations targeting homes in Cork City.
As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the area, Gardaí in Cork city stopped and searched a vehicle seizing €50,000 worth of suspected cannabis on Thursday 22nd.
A spokesperson said: “Gardaí carried out follow-up searches under warrant at a number of locations in Cork city during which suspected cannabis with an estimated value of €610,000 was seized, subject to analysis.
Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, arrested in relation to this investigation have been charged and appeared before a special sitting of Mallow District Court today, Saturday 24th January 2026.
Both men have been remanded to appear before Cork District Court on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026.
The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
