Muscle memory was at play. Galway’s failure to capitalise on their first-half superiority and a laser-guided finish from Darragh Stakelum for Tipperary’s goal after 64 minutes were the key ingredients as All-Ireland champions Tipperary saw off Galway in their league opener.
This same fixture in Salthill last year was a cakewalk for Liam Cahill’s men but they met much more stubborn resistance tonight.
