There has been a sharp drop in support for Fianna Fáil, a new opinion poll suggests.

The Business Post/Red C poll suggests that support for the party has dropped three percentage points to 15% since the previous poll in November.

Sinn Féin is up 2% to 24%, while support for Fine Gael is at 18%, up one percentage point.

The poll puts independents at 13%, down 1%, while support for the Social Democrats is up 2% to 10%.

The Labour party is up 1% to 5% in the same poll while support for Aontú has fallen 1% t0 5%.

Support for Independent Ireland is unchanged on 4%.

People Before Profit remains on 3% while the Green Party is down 2% to 1%.

The poll was conducted between 16 and 21 January.

The margin of error is plus or minus 3%.
