It’s been an incredible week for Dublin Lotto players after one lucky punter from the capital scooped a huge five-figure prize in Saturday night’s draw.
While there was no winner of last night’s Lotto jackpot, which was worth a jaw-dropping €7,202,013, in total, over 92,000 players won prizes, including one punter who came agonisingly close to scooping the life-changing top prize.
The player matched five numbers plus the bonus in Saturday night’s main Lotto draw, meaning they were just one correct number away from pocketing the €7.2m jackpot.
While they may have missed out on becoming Ireland’s newest millionaire, the ticketholder still has plenty of reason to celebrate as they scooped the Match 5 + Bonus prize of €53,775.
The numbers in Saturday night’s (January 24) Lotto draw were: 12, 13, 18, 19, 31, 46, and the Bonus was 36.
The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw from Tuthills, Unit 18a, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Quarryvale, Dublin 22.
Incredibly, this latest success marks Dublin’s third big Lotto win this week.
It comes after an online Lotto player from Dublin bagged a whopping €90,224 in Wednesday’s, Lotto draw, while a EuroMillions player in north Dublin who scooped €31,075 in Friday’s EuroMillions draw after purchasing the winning ticket at Centra on Coolock Lane in Santry.
Lotto chiefs have now issued an urgent appeal to Lotto players in Dublin to check their tickets to see if they are the latest lucky winner from the capital.
National Lottery spokesperson, Darragh O’Dwyer, said: “Dublin is on a roll this week with three big National Lottery wins!
“What started with an online player winning €90,224 in Wednesday’s Lotto draw was quickly followed up on Friday’s EuroMillions by a Santry player winning €31,075, and to top it off, Saturday’s Lotto draw saw a player in Dublin 22 win €53,775.
“If you purchased a ticket for Saturday night’s Lotto draw in Tuthills, Unit 18a, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Quarryvale, Dublin 22, now is the time to check your tickets carefully.
“If you’re holding that winning ticket, sign the back of it, keep it safe and contact our Prize Claims team!”
The Match Five + Bonus winner is advised to make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize in Lottery Headquarters.
