The latest Unity band arrives alongside new global grants for creative opportunities

Apple has officially unveiled the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, its annual special-edition Apple Watch band honoring Black History Month.

The 2026 release centers on the “power of connection”, Apple says, featuring a design that weaves the colors of the Pan-African flag into a sophisticated, textured accessory. The band is available for order today at $99/£99, with in-store availability following later this week.

Designed by company creatives, Apple notes that the Unity Connection band uses advanced precision-braiding machinery to interlace recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultrathin silicone threads. Fancy.

The result is a vibrant, multi-tonal look with deep shades of red, green, and black that offer a striking visual depth. Beyond the looks, Apple notes that the band is still engineered for performance, maintaining a soft feel while remaining entirely sweat and water-resistant.

Making a difference

Consistent with previous Unity launches, Apple is tying the hardware release to a broader philanthropic initiative.

The company has announced new grants for several global organizations that foster creativity in under-resourced communities.

This year’s recipients include Youth Music in London, Urban Arts in New York City, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, alongside continued support for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Enactus México.

The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is available in 42mm and 46mm case sizes, spanning band sizes 0–12. It is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and later, the Apple Watch SE 3, and all generations of the Apple Watch Ultra.
