How to Watch

Below Deck Down Under premieres Monday, February 2 at 8/7c on Bravo. Episodes stream next day on on Peacock.

Below Deck Down Under Season 4 is in sight, and Chef Ben Robinson’s long-awaited return to the Below Deck franchise comes with new details about his broken engagement from ex-girlfriend Kiara Cabral

In a preview of the Season 4 premiere (airing Monday, Feb. 2), the crew finds their bearings aboard M/Y Katina, docked on the Caribbean island of Canouan in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. And for Head Chef Ben, who previously appeared on Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean, a return to the galley may be just what he needs.

“This might come as a shock to everyone, but I am actually single,” the English yachtie admits in a confessional interview. “Fairly recently, I broke up with my fiancée — having spent $50,000 on a wedding I didn’t attend.”

Ben, who originally announced his and Kiara’s split in September 2024, adds, “It’s odd when your future’s been solidified, for it all to vanish into thin air. [But] Yachting was a big part of my formative life. It’s actually nice to come back to it.”

Elsewhere in the sneak peek, Ben and his fellow yachtie João Franco get giggly after Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher introduces them to incoming stews Jenna Woudberg and Joe Caron, as seen in the preview.

“They do say that to get over someone, you gotta find someone else,” Ben says. “I think Katina can be my new girl.”

Details on Ben Robinson’s called-off engagement

Ben confirmed his split from Kiara in a September 2024 Instagram post (to the tune of “Free Bird” by MOONLGHT, no less), which came one year and four months after he proposed

“We have decided to go our separate ways, and I think that this is the best decision for both of us,” Ben wrote at the time. “I would rather not discuss the reasons behind these decisions, but I feel it’s important for me to express my circumstance.”

He added that he hoped to channel his energy back into cooking on yachts: “I’m excited to continue my culinary inspirations with my non-gaslit cooktop, and trusty blowtorch. After all, nobody deserves a troublesome flame.”

As many jumped online to send their well-wishes to Ben following the split, his former Below Deck castmate Kate Chastain jokingly leaned into longstanding rumors that Ben was the biological father of her only son, now-2-year-old Sullivan Cay.

“Maybe I should screen your next partner for you,” she commented under Ben’s post. “Being a stepmom isn’t easy.”

What to expect from Chef Ben Robinson on Below Deck Down Under Season 4

The Season 4 trailer teased a potential romance for Chef Ben, while the official announcement warned of drama for him, Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, and Second Officer João Franco.

“As tension between Daisy and Chef Ben heats up, João’s growing feelings for Daisy and loyalty to Chef Ben collide, threatening to sink João and Chef Ben’s seven-year-long friendship,” the announcement read in part. “With veteran heads of departments clashing and chaos mounting, Capt. Jason realizes that more experience also means bigger egos, proving that even the pros can go overboard.”
