If a gym bag refresh is long overdue, fragrance fans have been raving about a £13 hair and body mist that’s perfect for a post-workout top up. Adidas, known first and foremost for trainers and activewear, has extended its offering into sporty scents that could rival much more expensive sprays – and for a limited time, Boots is sweetening the deal with a free gift.

Following the popularity of the adidas Vibes Eau de Parfum line last summer, the new Vibes Hair & Body Mists take the same mood-boosting scents and rework them into a lighter, more versatile format. Designed to be spritzed both through the hair and over the body, they’re ideal for everyday wear or throwing into a gym bag.

Each mist is priced at £13, making them a noticeably more affordable alternative to many viral body sprays currently dominating social media. Boots currently stocks four of the five scents, including Get Comfy, Dream Glaze, Happy Feels and Spark Up.

Shoppers buying online will also receive a free Adidas cap as a gift with purchase – however, the deal ends at midnight tonight (January 27). The yellow accessory will no doubt come in handy during the summer to protect scalps from the sun, will keep hair out of the face while playing sports, or can be worn to finish off an off-duty outfit.

According to Adidas, each scent has been developed to enhance mood and evoke positive feelings, whether that’s calm, confidence or energy. The bottles themselves are sleek and lightweight, designed for on-the-go use.

Mist the vibe all over your hair & body and boost your mood with the new adidas mists. Vibes Get Comfy Fragrance Hair & Body Mist is proven to make you feel positive.

Get Comfy is arguably the most popular scent, having racked up the most reviews on the health and beauty retailer. It’s described as a ‘soft, cosy’ scent with notes of vanilla and peony.

Speaking on the mist, one shopper wrote: “Smells lovely! Mist actually lasts pretty long if you spray a lot. Got compliments on it literally on my first spray.”

Another praised the ‘light, sweet scent’ saying that it ‘compliments every event’. They added: “Whether it’s doing day to day tasks or a meal out, this body spray matched all. It lasted all day and got loads of compliments.”

“This body mist smells amazing. I did not expect Adidas to make such a great smelling spray that I can use on a day to day basis,” said a third. “I love the convenience of the bottle and how I can throw it in my gym bag and spray it before and after my workout.”

However, as perfume is personal and subjective, not every scent will appeal, with a three star review reading: “The bottle is fine but the scent is too strong and way too sweet. The application is good and I would recommend if you like the scent but this isn’t for me.”

If Get Comfy doesn’t appeal, Dream Glaze is more gourmand with hazelnut and cocoa notes. For those who prefer something fresher, Happy Feels combines zesty grapefruit with floral jasmine, while Spark Up pairs mango with lemon for a vibrant, energetic spritz.

Elsewhere, Sol de Janeiro is undoubtedly amongst the most sought-after brands in the body mist category. Their Cheirosa 62 Hair and Body Perfume Mist stars warm, sunny notes of vanilla and salted caramel for £24, while their newest Cheirosa 91 Perfume Mist, released in December, blends Rio Pink Rose with passionfruit, honey caramel, and cashmere woods.

At Space NK, Phlur’s hair and body mists begin at £25 and are available in an expanding selection of fragrances. For those who favour fruity scents, the Mango Mood mist delivers a combination of mango, pink pepper, patchouli, vanilla and brown sugar for something that balances ‘fresh sweetness and rich, unbridled sensuality’.

Across the Boots website, the Adidas range has already clocked up hundreds of reviews, with many buyers praising how well the fragrance performs compared to other body mists at a similar price point.

One customer commented about Dream Glaze: “Absolutely obsessed with this scent! It’s my new go to. Beautiful bottle, lasts all day as well. I’m usually a libre girly, but this has been replacing it lately.”

“Love this mist,” said a Happy Feels user. “Perfect for everyday use. It’s light but lasts well, and I love that it works for both hair and body. Definitely a new fave in my routine.”

Some customers were disappointed that the Spark Up fragrance seemed ‘masculine’. One wrote: “This is marketed as good for either gender but it definitely pulls more masculine. It’s a heavier scent, I was expecting (or hoping) for something more light and summery. It lasts a pretty good amount through the day and would be an excellent scent for teenagers. A little too harsh for me to wear personally but overall not a bad scent.”

Shoppers can browse the Adidas Vibes Hair & Body Mist collection online at Boots now, but the gift-with-purchase offer is online-only and available while stocks last, so it’s one to move quickly on if you want the freebie.
