HBO will release a new episode of The Pitt Season 2 tonight, but Collider is here to give fans an early look at the 10 A.M. hour at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. We’re happy to partner with HBO to exclusively preview a new sneak peek at tonight’s episode, which shows Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) refusing Zoom therapy before he goes on his sabbatical. He’s confirmed that this full day in Season 2 will be his last day of work for a while, but the Fourth of July holiday is proving to him that he should have maybe taken off a day or two earlier.
The Pitt is quietly becoming the biggest medical drama on TV. It’s HBO’s first time visiting the genre, and it comes as no surprise that the studio delivered something unique that’s never been done before. The Pitt Season 2, like Season 1, takes place over only one shift at the ER in Pittsburg Trauma Medical Center. Each episode covers only one hour, and the show is shot in the order of which events happen. When Season 2 first began, production on the final episodes was still ongoing, as confirmed by several social media posts from the cast.
The Pitt Season 1 debuted to widespread critical acclaim, and fans were nervous to see if Season 2 could follow in its footsteps. Not only has The Pitt Season 2 proven to be a worthy successor to Season 1, but it’s earned an even higher score of 99% from critics on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. The best episodes of The Pitt Season 1 came near the end, so there’s no telling what creator R. Scott Gemmill and Noah Wyle have in store for the conclusion of Season 2.
How Many Episodes Are in ‘The Pitt’ Season 2?
Just like Season 1, there will be 15 episodes in The Pitt Season 2, with new episodes airing weekly on Thursday at 9 P.M. ET. New episodes will continue to arrive until April 16, and by this time, other popular shows from other streamers, like Paradise and Daredevil: Born Again, will also be on the air. HBO has also already renewed The Pitt for a third season, but it has not yet been confirmed if Season 3 will stick to the same January release window.
Check out the new sneak peek at The Pitt Season 2 above and catch up on the first few episodes of the new season on HBO Max.
