Team Jade Personal Training is run by Jade Laycock, a fully qualified Level 3 personal trainer, who launched the business in January 2023 following a career change after the birth of her third child.
Jade, a 36-year-old mum of three, said the nomination came as a complete surprise.
She said: “To be nominated was a huge surprise and I’m totally humbled by this. Our gym is a ladies-only community, we are so much more than a gym. Empowering, supporting and encouraging each other.”

Jade said: “I’ve always been deeply passionate about fitness — but just as passionate about supporting other women. As a 36-year-old mum of three, I truly understand how hard it can be to make time for ourselves.
“Life is busy, demanding, and often exhausting. But I’ve always believed that fitness is about so much more than physical strength — it’s about our headspace, our confidence, and our ability to cope with daily life.”
Before opening Team Jade, Jade worked as a higher-level teaching assistant at Coates Lane Primary School in Barnoldswick.
After having her third baby in 2022, she decided it was time for a new direction.
“In January 2023, I took the leap and opened Team Jade,” she said.
“What started with just one, two, or three members has grown into a beautiful community of 50-plus incredible women by January this year.”
As a one-woman business, Jade offers a wide range of sessions including HIIT, strength training and personal training, while also involving members in fitness events and group outings.
She said: “I am a one-woman business offering as much variety to my ladies. HIIT sessions, strength sessions, personal training sessions, and we attend HIIT events as I present for the fitness company, so I try and involve the girls in as many team outings and sessions as possible.”
Jade added that the sense of community is what sets Team Jade apart.
“Team Jade isn’t just a fitness group,” she said.
“It’s a community you can rely on. A safe space to feel supported, encouraged, and empowered. A place where real women build real strength — inside and out.”
