Joy Behar, a familiar face on “The View,” is missing from the show this week. The reason is simple: Joy is taking a short break. She is expected to return soon, so viewers won’t have to wait long to see her back on the show.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg shared a brief update about Behar’s health during the live show. Behar, 83, was again absent from the Hot Topics table. After the first commercial break, Goldberg told viewers Behar is doing fine and will return next week. She joked that viewers had noticed Behar’s absence and said the show would not be lowering her from the ceiling during Thursday’s broadcast.
Behar has been missing from the show since Jan. 23. Earlier this week, Goldberg told viewers she was not feeling well and is expected to return after recovering.
The show’s producers have also assured fans that Behar is doing well and is just taking some time off. This isn’t the first time she has taken a break from the show, having stepped away for vacations and other personal commitments in the past.
The producers have not announced any guest hosts to fill in for Joy during her absence.
Behar has been on “The View” since 1997, appearing in all but two seasons.
