Wexford County Council said multiple roads were closed across the county due to flooding following bad weather conditions.
A Status Yellow rain was issued for the county yesterday, which also covered counties Carlow, Dublin, Louth, Wicklow and Waterford.
Surface water levels increased in parts Co Wexford and Co Kilkenny late yesterday evening.
The area along Enniscorthy’s quays was closed to traffic due to flooding that made the road “impassable”, Wexford County Council said.
However, the extent of the flooding in the town over the coming hours is not expected to be as bad as earlier in the week.
The council said there were “accumulations of water on roads across the county” yesterday.
Other areas impacted by flooding included Our Lady’s Island, Bridgetown and Carne among others.
The council advised road users to travel “with extreme caution” over the next 24 hours.
“Even where rivers are not currently overflowing, the risk of flooding remains very high over the next 24 hours,” it added.

Flooding in Thomastown, Co Kilkenny
It also advised people “not approach, touch, or attempt to walk or drive through floodwater” as it is contaminated.
Flooding also hit Co Kilkenny throughout yesterday after the Nore and Barrow rivers burst their banks.
Properties in several parts of the county were affected, including Graiguenamanagh, Thomastown, Inistioge and Callan.
Horse Racing Ireland said it will conduct a further inspection of the Leopardstown track at 8am ahead of the first day of the Dublin Racing Festival.
It said the course was found to “be fit for racing” yesterday following an initial inspection, but it said another examination is required to determine if the meeting can go ahead due to the “possibility of 10-20mm (approx) of rain” that is forecast.
Meanwhile the Government is to increase the amount of money available to small businesses affected by Storm Chandra which cannot get flood insurance from €20,000 to €100,000.
It will be signed off by the Cabinet in the coming days, potentially during an incorporeal meeting before the weekly Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
