The European Union earlier this week agreed a trade deal, paving the way for India to open up its guarded market with its largest trading partner.

Trade between India and the EU stood at $136.5 billion in the fiscal year through March 2025.

It is understood the formal signing of the India-EU deal will take place after legal vetting, which is expected to last five to six months.
