Ireland’s Darragh McElhinney won the 3,000m race at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic on Saturday, coming home in in a time of 7:38.96.
The 25-year-old held off Frenchman Romain Mornet (7:39.25), and the American Vincent Ciattei (7:39.50) to take victory.
At the same event, Nick Griggs smashed the Irish Under-23 indoor 5,000m record, clocking 13:19.90 to finish fourth.
On Friday, Maeve O’Neill ran a PB of 2:01.96 to win her 800m heat at the event.
This 21-year-old Corkwoman moved to sixth on the Irish senior indoor all-time list for the event.
